Access Right Function

The Right function returns a requested number of characters from the end of a string.

Syntax

Right(string, length)
ArgumentDescription
stringSource text
lengthNumber of characters to return

Examples

Right("INV-2026", 4)       ' 2026
Suffix: Right([ProductCode], 3)
LastInitial: Right(Trim([LastName]), 1)

A negative length raises an error. If length exceeds the string length, the whole string is returned; Null input returns Null.
