Access Asc Function

The Asc function returns the character code of the first character in a string.

Syntax

Asc(string)
ArgumentDescription
stringNon-empty text expression

Examples

Asc("A")       ' 65
Asc("Apple")   ' 65
FirstCode: Asc(Left([Code], 1))

Asc raises an error for an empty string and uses the current code page. Use AscW when the Unicode code unit is required.
